Cork has many beautiful places for you to visit, a lot of them you may of heard of before, but what about the hidden gems of Cork? Wouldn't you like to go and visit them? Places that not many people know of but are just spectacular. From little coffee shops to stunning views, we are here to tell you about these little hidden gems.
First up we have a a quirky cafe situated 15 minutes outside the city called The Workshop. This cafe is just beside Cork Airport so you will get a view of planes landing and taking off which could pose for a good photo opportunity, The cafe was once a workshop for the owners dad, then his two sons converted it to a quaint little cafe that has a delicious menu to choose from. So if your looking for a nice cup of coffee or tea and a yummy sandwich be sure to check this place out.
If your feeling like having a day outside, why not head down to Crosshaven and walk along the cliff side. This walk is 5.3km long, it goes around in a loop and you can take in some amazing views along the route. The walk isn't that long and something the whole family can enjoy.
The next spot is a bit of a drive from the city, but it is defiantly worth the trip. Gougane Barra is the most spectacular place. As you arrive you take in the beautiful lake and the stunning St. Finbarr's Oratory, which is on the lakes shore. Down at Gougane Barra there are many walking trails that you can go on and if your feeling up to it there is hiking trails that you can tackle. This is defiantly a place you have to put on your list.
If your looking to get out on the water for the day why not visit Ballyhass Aqua Park in Coachford. They have many water activities such as kayaking, water sports and a challenge zone. Its also outside the city, but a place many locals love, that we think you might love it too. This is a fun place and you are sure to enjoy it!
